| Back in 1996, having an Internet
connection was unusual and owning a UK web site was quite rare. Even the
BBC didn't have one, and sites like lastminute.com were not even a twinkle
in an entrepreneur's eye. Now, internet connections are common in thousands of UK homes and offices, and many businesses have web sites. Both home and office users are taking advantage of a rapid technology to find information, and businesses are presenting the answers instantaneously. As more and more people join the Internet, the need for paper brochures decreases, the need for paper advertisements decreases and therefore advertising costs decrease. It is said that 'a picture speaks a thousand words'. Imagine the cost of a paper advertisement containing three or four pictures and even two hundred words.
